Syscoin Weekly Update II.
Porsche NFTs Taking Off on Syscoin
In September, we announced the first official Porsche24 NFTs would be premiering exclusively on the Luxy NFT marketplace for Syscoin users. Porsche24 is the official app for drivers of the Porsche racing team. The brand new 'P24 Fender Benders' Collection consists of 5,000 unique artworks, each displaying one of the five Supercup drivers from Team GP Elite in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season of 2022. These NFTs are designed by the Dutch Street Artist 'Street Art Frankey'.
The P24 Fender Benders project team consists of several marketing and project management professionals including Team GP Elite, Syscoin and Porsche24. The P24 Fender Benders collection consists of 5,000 unique artworks, each displaying one of the five Supercup drivers from Team in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season of 2022. Owners of these NFTs will have the opportunity to win a number of prizes, including race tickets, training sessions by Supercup drivers, and even a hot lap at Circuit Zandvoort driven by a Supercup driver.
The artist, Frank de Ruwe, also known as Street Art Frankey, Frankey currently lives and works in Amsterdam, with his work having been displayed across the Netherlands, including the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, and in various exhibitions in the United States, Italy, and Germany. His street art bravado and cultural sensitivity informs his public and private commissions and is most appreciated by an audience fond of truly distinctive art with a healthy dose of lightheartedness.
Minting commenced on the twelfth and is ongoing. If you are interested in collecting some of these NFTs, you can read more about it on the Luxy website.
Sidhu Meets Hoskinson
Monday’s ‘Hangout with Charles’ Twitter Space was co-hosted by Syscoin Ambassador, Corey Costa. Corey’s mission is to push the space forward by interviewing guests from across the industry. On Monday he had the opportunity to bring Syscoin’s own Core Lead Developer, Jagdeep Sidhu, on to speak a bit with Charles Hoskinson of Cardano.
In their conversation, they had the opportunity to cordially speak about censorship resistance and scaling, which provided Sidhu with the opportunity to bring up the question of data availability. Hoskinson sincerely listed a number of concerns around the issue, and a theoretical application of reference points, but nothing conclusive. Unfortunately, he had several guests, so he had to move on before Sidhu had the opportunity to fully detail our Proof-of-Data Availability solution, which plays a key role alongside rollups in how Syscoin is prepared to offer the world’s most scalable smart contract platform from the Layer 2 of our NEVM onward. Syscoin is blockchain’s dark horse and it is quickly galloping towards its major reveal as Rollux nears mainnet.
Later on, Jag also joined Corey for a live interview:
SBF Arrested
In the news beyond Syscoin, former CEO of FTX, Sam Bankman Fried has been arrested by Bahaman authorities under an extradition order from the United States. It will be interesting to watch how these events continue to unfold, but in the meantime we would remind our community to practice operational security by retaining control of their own assets and to avoid leaving them on centralized exchanges. We are continuing to develop the technology that will allow DEXes to scale while also remaining in compliance with regulations to provide a non-custodial exchange experience on par with what users are accustomed to from major centralized exchanges. In the meantime, it is worth noting $SYS was not listed on FTX, so our supply has been unaffected by the controversy.
